MARVEL’S AVENGERS and SPIDER-MAN video games to remain separate universes
Marvel Games boss Bill Rosemann discusses the studio’s approach to the wider Marvel universe in games ahead of the release of MARVEL’S AVENGERS.

With the confirmation that Spider-Man will be a PlayStation exclusive character in Marvel’s Avengers it has left fans wondering: will Marvel’s gaming universe coalesce like the MCU on the big screen?
Speaking to EW in a recent interview, Marvel Games boss Bill Rosemann has clarified the studios future plans.
“Each game is in the Marvel universe, but they’re in their own reality, if you will,” he said. “Currently, our plan is to keep each game set in its own Marvel universe.”
Given that different developers are working on each of the current games it makes sense to keep the characters separate. It enables each of the creative teams to do their best work without being beholden to what another developer is creating.
Have you played the Marvel’s Avengers beta which is currently available on PlayStation and Xbox? What do you think of the game so far?
