On October 3, the official website for My Hero Academia held a streaming-only event “HERO FES 2020,” which is usually held in convention halls but was launched online due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
14 of the main Japanese voice cast members were confirmed to join the live event, which started just after 6 o’clock in the morning British Standard Time with a headline of “The biggest event ever going PLUS ULTRA to Season 5!”
For fans to have access to this event they had to purchase the first press limited edition of My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising (2019) on blu-ray or DVD and obtain a serial code to join the ticket lottery. This did mean that a lot of international audiences did not get the opportunity to purchase tickets as the film has not been released in countries such as the UK.

Confirmed to start in Spring 2021, My Hero Academia Season 5’s teaser was released on YouTube by TOHO Animation and begins by showing us Class 1-A, full of the fan-favourite main characters geared up in winter versions of their hero costumes and ready to go head-to-head with Class 1-B, their rival hero class who we first saw in the Season 2 sports festival arc.
The trailer is only 41 seconds long but manages to give us a compilation of clips full of characters fighting, using their quirks (superpowers) as well as the main character, Izuku Midoriya, giving a small speech about moving forward as a hero (though this is not yet dubbed in the English language).
The release of this teaser was accompanied by a Key Visual which shows us Izuku Midoriya as well as fan-favourite side characters Katsuki Bakugou, Momo Yaoyorozu, Tsuyu Asui, Hitoshi Shinsou and more! This is just a teaser yet we are anticipating this season after a nail-biting Season 4 which finished earlier this year, and just as always we are expecting nothing but the best from one of the most popular animes of this generation.
