Jared Leto has confirmed that reshoots for the upcoming spin off, Morbius, have started. After apparent ‘leaks’ online, this could be an effort on Sony’s behalf to change certain details. If you are excited for the film, like I am, I would advice against hunting the leaks down. Rest-assured, we won’t be discussing the apparent leaks here.
Leto confirmed the news via his Instagram account where he also revealed himself preparing for the role. In his Instagram post, Leto can be seen reading Marvel’s Legion of Monsters. This comic book series was published in 2011 and features Morbius, Werewolf by Night, Living Mummy and Manphibian. Could this be a potential tease for what is to come?

After attempting to cure himself, Michael begins to exhibit supernatural abilities. Eventually he transforms into Morbius, The Living Vampire. A creature with superhuman strength, speed, durability and sonar-related powers.
Directed by Daniel Espinosa, Morbius stars Jared Leto as the titular character, Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Tyrese Gibson as Agent Stroud and Jared Harris
Interestingly, the first trailer revealed how this movie could lead to a crossover between Sony’s franchise and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the trailer revealed a poster featuring Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man, the trailer also revealed a familiar face.
Michael Keaton’s Vulture, the antagonist from Spider-Man: Homecoming made a surprising appearance at the end of the trailer. Could this be the catalyst that sees the arrival of the Sinister Six? Only time will tell.
Despite the reshoots, Morbius is due to release July 31, 2020. You can check out the awesome trailer for Morbius below:
