When Venom hit screens back in 2018 fans desperately hoped that Tom Holland would crop up in a small cameo as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. There were rumours to that affect circling before the movie’s release.
But alas when Venom finally did arrive in cinemas, Holland was nowhere to be seen.
But now Collider has shared a rumour that Holland did, in fact, shoot a cameo which was later vetoed by Disney. The site understands that Disney took issue with the implications of Parker and Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) appearing in the same film as it would lead fans to believe that Venom was part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With the deal between Sony and Disney/Marvel Studios now defunct this opens the door for Holland to appear in future movies without the shadow of Disney looming large in the background.
