First it was Green Goblin, now it’s Doctor Octopus. After Hot Toys revealed their immaculate version of Green Goblin, it got us thinking about what’s next for Hot Toys in terms of Spider-Man: No Way Home. There are certainly a lot of opportunties and it looks as though we are slowly getting through them. Gradually. Today, Hot Toys revealed their latest figure which was honestly quite a surprise. Doc Ock is an insanely popular character, that’s not the issue.
Despite Octavius being a somewhat easy character to model, the issue lies with Doc’s rather terrifying helpers. We can’t even begin to imagine how these tentacles have been created. They’re completely different compared to how the Iron Spider’s pincers work since they have ball joints which limits their maneuverability to the joints. In order for Doc Ock to be an outstanding figure, there has to be some level of control and somehow… Hot Toys have done it.
The power of the sun, in the palm of my hand
Equipped with four bendable tentacles, fans will be able to have the Doc Ock figure of their dreams. Fully poseable, dynamic, and simply stunning. But, there’s more. The Deluxe Version will exclusively include four additional nano tech tentacles interchangeable with the original ones to recreate the big fight scene between Peter Parker and Doc Ock in this universe.
Both versions are currently available to preorder through Sideshow. The Standard Edition will cost roughly $330 (£250), while the Deluxe Version will cost $360 (£275). The figures are set to drop some time in 2023 so get your preorders in now.
