By the Allspark! We have some incredibly exciting news about the upcoming Transformers movie, Rise of the Beasts. According to multiple sources, Hellboy‘s Ron Perlman has joined the cast as Optimus Primal, the brave leader of the Maximals.
In the original animated series Beast Wars, Optimus Primal transformed into a fierce mechanical gorilla. Yes, that’s right… A transforming gorilla. Seeing the Maximals in action on the big screen is going to be incredible and a lot of fans are going to be very happy. We can’t wait to see what they look like.
Joining Primal is also the leader of the Autobots Optimus Prime who will once again be voiced by the wonderful Peter Cullen. It’ll be very interesting to see how these two leaders will meet and what sort of dynamic they’ll have. Regardless, we’re getting a transforming gorilla and a G1 Optimus Prime. Yes please.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts , the seventh movie in the franchise, is set to be released on June 24th, 2022. It’s still early days, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted on any additional bits of news surrounding this incredibly exciting project. Who else would you like to see join the cast?
