Later today, around 14:00 GMT, we’ll get the first trailer for Sony Pictures Morbius, The Living Vampire. But a new leaked image seems to confirm that the film will, at least tangentially, connect to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Following the leaked image of actor Jared Leto in full makeup (check that one out here) we’ve not got a new image of the character in what appears to be prison overalls.
But it’s the background of the image which has set fans talking…
https://twitter.com/Vullein/status/1216483551396466693We can clearly see an image of Spider-Man with graffiti calling him a murderer sprayed over the top, seemingly a reference to the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Could this confirm the news that the latest version of the Sony/Marvel deal allows Tom Holland’s wallcrawler to appear in both universes?
Whilst it doesn’t necessarily put Venom (Tom Hardy) and Morbius in the larger MCU it does, at least referentially, allow them to exist in the same world.
Jared Leto takes the lead in the latest of Sony’s Spider-Man spin-offs. The movie is due to release July 31, 2020.
