    Capcom pulled out all the stops on the future of its biggest franchises during the latest Capcom Spotlight showcase. Packed with major gameplay details, release dates, and unexpected DLC drops, the event outlined a massive line-up of content heading to PC and consoles in the near future.

    Check out the full Spotlight below;

    Monster Hunter Stories 3

    The showcase kicked off with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection and producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announcing the Additional Side Story: Rudy DLC, which is available now. This brand-new narrative DLC explores the origins of the Royal Felyne and his ancient ancestors. In a bizarre twist of events, the story brings Rudy face-to-face with Navirou, the legendary hero Felyne from the original Monster Hunter Stories game. Players who already own the Deluxe or Premium Deluxe Editions can download and dive into the story immediately across Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

    Alongside the paid DLC, Capcom released a major free update designed to challenge endgame players. Once the final battle is cleared on a completed save file, players unlock a grueling Hard mode. Conquering this difficulty tier unlocks “Royal Monster” variants of nearly every creature in the game, including unpredictable Invasive Monsters and Calamitous Elder Dragons, giving high-level Rangers a brutal new test of skill.

    Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen

    Director Kento Kinoshita then joined the showcase to share a deep dive into Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, the highly anticipated expansion scheduled to launch on the 9th October 2026.

    Set in the frozen, long-forgotten northern region of Norgan, the expansion introduces 12 punishing challenge dungeons alongside expanded character customization features like new hair and tattoo options for the Arisen and their main Pawn. Kinoshita detailed the Relic Expedition Cycle, which tasks players with exploring Norgan to uncover and appraise ancient relics. These relics unlock powerful weapons and skills needed to survive the hunt for the heartless Fallen Dragon and its mysterious pursuer, Eir.

    Kinoshita also committed to a massive base-game quality-of-life update arriving in late August. This upcoming patch will drastically improve performance across all platforms, introduce additional save slots, rebalance the notorious Dragonsplague condition, and expand the active weapon skill slots from four to six.

    The Dark Arisen expansion will launch as a standalone package on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, or as separate DLC for existing owners of the base game on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam.

    Pre-ordering unlocks the “Norgan Fashion Set – Northern Attire” in-game bonus, and players who pre-order the bundle on PC or home consoles will grant immediate access to the base game ahead of October’s launch. Capcom confirmed that the very first public hands-on demo of the expansion will take place at Gamescom 2026.

    Onimusha: Way of the Sword

    The long awaited revival of Capcom’s classic samurai franchise made a striking appearance as director Satoru Nihei introduced a new foe for Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

    Fans got their first look at Dohatsu-ten, a blindingly fast, winged Genma warrior that has carved its way from hell into the mortal realm. The revealed footage showcased an intense, high-stakes boss battle against protagonist Miyamoto Musashi that promises to push players’ swordplay skills to the absolute limit.

    The full game is set to launch this September across PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store. Pre-orders are open now and include the “Sealed Curse” sword skin and “Lion Dog” charm.

    For players eager to test the combat immediately, a playable slice of the game has been released today as a free downloadable demo across the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store.

    Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Celebration

    Following the recent reveal of Resident Evil: Veronica at Summer Games Fest and the continued support of Resident Evil: Requiem, Capcom is keeping the hype train going for the franchise’s 30th anniversary.

    First, the publisher announced “The World of Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Exhibit,” an immersive historical exhibition hosted at Shibuya Beam in Tokyo. Running from 30th October through until 20th December, the event will bring three decades of survival horror history to life through interactive displays, with ticket sales starting in early July.

    Additionally, the acclaimed “Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Concerts – Symphony of Legacy” is officially going global. After kicking off a successful run in Japan earlier this year, the full symphony orchestra tour will begin traveling to international venues starting this August, performing curated tracks that trace the musical history of the franchise.

    Confirmed dates include;

    25th August – Mitsubishi Electric Halle – Düsseldorf
    1st December – FORUM KARLÍN – Prague
    6th December – ZÉNITH PARIS – LA VILLETTE – Paris
    7th December – EVENTIM APOLLO – London
    15th December – WIENER STADTHALLE/ HALLE F – Vienna

    Tickets for the global tour dates are available now through the official Resident Evil website.

    I am an ex Royal Navy sailor who loves all things geek. I have a strong admiration of anime as well as western television shows and movies. From a young age I was into video games as well as TV shows, often spotted in front of a screen somewhere. My goal is to become a screenwriter/director one day and left the Royal Navy after 9 years to better pursue that dream of mine.
