We’re now less a month to go until the release of DC Studios’ Supergirl in cinemas across the world. As a series of “fan first” event screenings go on sale in the US we finally have confirmation of the runtime for the Craig Gillespie-directed film. Supergirl releases in UK cinemas on June 25, 2026 ahead of its June 26 release in the US.
The “fan first” screenings of the full film will be taking place in cities across the US on June 24, marking the first chance members of the public will have to see the film. Listings for those screenings have confirmed that Supergirl’s final runtime will clock in at 1 hour and 48 minutes, a touch shorter than Superman’s 2 hours and 9 minutes.
In Supergirl, Milly Alcock stars alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa.
DC Studios heads Peter Safran and James Gunn are producing the film, which is based on characters from DC, Supergirl based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The film is executive produced by Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo and Lars P. Winther. Behind the camera, Gillespie is joined by director of photography Rob Hardy, production designer Neil Lamont, editor Tatiana S. Riegel, costume designers Anna B. Sheppard and Michael Mooney, Visual Effects Supervisor Geoffrey Baumann, music supervisor Susan Jacobs and composer Claudia Sarne.
Supergirl will release in UK and Irish cinemas on June 25, 2026 from Warner Bros. Pictures.
