With Game of Thrones final season set to begin in just a few months time network HBO are making plans for the future. Prequel series, tentatively titled The Long Night, is getting ready to shoot its pilot episode.
EW has broken the news that S. J. Clarkson, director of the next Star Trek movie, it set to take the helm on the pilot.
The report also confirms the names of several new cast members recently added to the show. Naomi Ackie (Star Wars: Episode IX), Denise Gough (People Places and Things), Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd), Shella Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp and Toby Regbo have all joined the cast in undisclosed roles.
The series is set to star Naomi Watts (The Ring) in the lead role and Poldark actor Josh Whitehouse as one of the series male leads. Production on The Long Night (or whatever it ends up being called) is on course to begin in early 2019.
