Another weekend has drawn to a close at the box office. This weekend Godzilla: King of the Monsters bowed in almost all markets and was able to gross $179m despite a flood of mixed reviews. The movie, which currently holds a score of 39% on Rotten Tomatoes, scored a B+ CinemaScore from opening day audiences. That score hints that word of mouth may hinder the movie in the long run. Over the last 48hrs there have been plenty more casting rumours and “confirmations” for The Batman. Firstly The Wrap claimed insider knowledge that both Robert Pattinson and Nicholas Hoult would be undergoing costume screen tests next week. It’s no secret from watching footage from Dark Phoenix that the movie doesn’t stay too close to the source material. Certain elements, like for example the Shi’ar Empire, are missing. Back in 2011 Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn brought us what remans to be one of the most refreshing X-Men movies in the franchise. Earlier in the week we brought you the news that the Black Widow solo movie had begun production in Norway. Now the first photos from the set have surfaced online. Things have begun to quiet down in the world of Avengers: Endgame.
