In case you missed it: late last night for us Europeans it was announced that Matt Reeves The Batman has found its Riddler.
THR first reported the news that Wildlife and 12 Years A Slave actor Paul Dano had been tapped for the role. Dano is a Golden Globe nominee who has also starred in There Will Be Blood, and Okja.
Dano’s casting comes hot on the heels of the news that Jonah Hill had dropped out of the running to join the cast. We understand that Warner Bros. was touting Hill for the role of Penguin but that he was particularly interested in the Riddler role.
Similar to his confirmation of Zoe Kravitz casting, Matt Reeves tweeted out a GIF of Dano to confirm the news. Interestingly he referred to the character as Edward Nashton, a version of his name from the comics which pre-dates his use of the name Nygma.
What could it all mean!?
