After generating plenty of headlines it seems that Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wallstreet) is no longer in talks to join the cast of Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
We’ve previously heard that Hill was deep in talks with Warner Bros. to join the film. Initial rumours pointed to the actor being in talks for the role of Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin with later rumours suggesting he may also have been in talks for Edward Nygma/The Riddler.
Further unsubstantiated rumours pointed to talks being difficult due to Hill asking for a salary above that of lead actor Robert Pattinson.
THR and a number of major outlets are now reporting that Hill and Warner were simply “too far apart on a deal” to make it work.
Rumours are now circulating that Warner has turned to Hill’s old pal Seth Rogen to discuss the Cobblebot/Penguin role.
The Batman is still rumoured to begin filming early in 2020 here in the UK with production expected to shoot on sets at Warner Bros. famous Leavesden Studios.
The Batman is due for release on June 25, 2021.
