Nightwing comics has found its new writer. DC Comics has formally announced that Benjamin Percy will inherit the series from Tim Seeley. Seeley exited the post of ongoing writer with issue #34 in November. The series has featured a series of guest writers whilst the publisher sought a new permanent writer. Percy comes from successful runs on both Teen Titans and Green Arrow so is well accustomed to working at DC. Marvel Comics has today announced that its whole universe will be receiving a makeover. Later in 2018, roughly May-time, will see the entire line get what they are calling a ‘fresh start’. UPDATE: the official figures have now been released and Black Panther performed even better than we could have hoped. The official figures for the three-day weekend in North America has risen to $202m! With the Monday estimate of $33m that means that the four-day holiday weekend opening is approximately $235m. This is an unprecedented success for a solo entry in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The worldwide gross is now estimated at $404m. A new rumour courtesy of Aquaman Shrine has brought us a small update on the character of Mera. In DC Comics New 52 era we know that Mera’s father promised her hand in marriage to king Nereus of Atlantis. The character falls helplessly in love with Arthur putting the two men at odds. Now this rumour points to Nereus being the father of Mera in James Wan’s Aquaman. We have little information to go on other than the rumour itself. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. 25 seasons of adapting the Super Sentai series for the American market, 3 movies and countless toys and comics books and the franchise is still going strong. Say what you will about Justice League but Warner Bros./DC Comics are certainly learning to poke fun at themselves. In the first trailer for Teen Titans Go! To The Movies we saw the heroes all dress as Wonder Woman whilst poking fun at their own grown up counterparts.
