Lucifer has been saved! In an eleventh hour deal Netflix has swopped in and picked up the series for a fourth season. The streaming service brokered a deal with studio Warner Bros. and FOX TV within 24hrs of the contract deadline. Had a deal not been reached by June 16 the actors contracts would have relinquished and allowed them to move on to new projects. The Netflix incarnation of Lucifer is set to debut in 2019 with 10 new episodes. Those episodes are confirmed to run the standard 43-45mins. The ongoing saga of just who will buy 20th Century Fox continues. Following Disney’s bid to become majority shareholder of the company Comcast countered with a cash bid of $65 billion. Now CNBC is reporting that Disney is preparing a further offer to help secure assets from the deal. Disney is expected to revise its original offer to purchase the majority of 21st Century Fox by adding cash to its bid. Fox executives are to hold a board meeting on Wednesday to discuss Comcast’s latest bid. Should Fox decide to engage in talks with the company, Disney would then have five days to match…

Last night Supergirl wrapped up it’s third season with an action-packed finale. Kara finally took down Reign in battle but it was not without its consequences. Borrowing aspects from Superman: The Movie the finale saw several characters killed off. Seeing the devastation around here Kara used black Kryptonite to travel in time and make a second attempt. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is continuing to dominate the worldwide box office. Despite not releasing in North America until Friday the film is already nearing the $400m mark at the box office. Following a hugely successful $151m opening in several markets the film has most recently opened in China. Though the film has yet to be formally announced it appears Todd Phillips Joker begins production in September. Omega Underground reports that the film, set to say Joaquin Phoenix, will shoot largely in New York. The city will act as Gotham during the origin story. Little more is known about the film at this stage. We understand it will form part of a new off-shoot of DC Films known as “DC Dark” or “DC Black”.
