Deadpool 2 actor Lewis Tan has confirmed that a recent tweet did signify a meeting with the executives at DC Films. Back in early June Tan tweeted the below photo and message. Giving nothing away speculations was rife that he had met with execs to discuss taking on the role of Nightwing. The dinosaurs have ruled supreme at the weekend box office again. In its second weekend frame in North America, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom fell around 59% to gross a further $60m. That takes its current domestic to total to around over $264.8m. Globally the film raked in another $56.1m for a total in the region of $667.6m. It doesn’t take a mathematician to know that means the film is closing is on the coveted $1 billion mark worldwide. Currently the film is sitting pretty at $932.4m. Last week we brought you news that Jeremy Irons had joined the cast of Watchmen. With the pilot currently filming under the watchful eye of show runner Damon Lindelof we’ve been hearing more and more casting news. The first Doctor Strange movie landed in theatres all the way back in 2016. Despite being another hit for the Marvel dream factor there has been no news on a potential sequel. Until now. A new rumour points to Matt Reeves The Batman finally taking its first steps towards entering production. The legendary Batman-on-Film website is reporting that the film is beginning to hire production staff. This means the film could enter pre-production very shortly. This new rumour would also confirm the longstanding idea that The Batman will enter production in 2019 for a 2020 release. We understand that a draft of the script has been handed in. DC Comics has officially launched its DC Universe streaming service with a new trailer. Focussing on the various different areas of the service we’ve now go a much better idea about what to expect. The service will not only feature the previously announced live action series including Titans but also classic movies and TV shows, a curated selection of digital comics, and exclusive merchandise. Something tells us Warner Bros. knows it’s on to a winner with Wonder Woman 1984. Last night director Patty Jenkins released our first official look at Kristen Wiig on the set of the movie. HBO is currently hard at work filming the pilot for its Watchmen adaption. Whilst we know only fragments of what the series will entail one new detail has us intrigued. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Jeremy Irons has joined the pilot in a lead role capacity.
