The dinosaurs have ruled supreme at the weekend box office again.
In its second weekend frame in North America, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom fell around 59% to gross a further $60m. That takes its current domestic to total to around over $264.8m.
Globally the film raked in another $56.1m for a total in the region of $667.6m.
It doesn’t take a mathematician to know that means the film is closing is on the coveted $1 billion mark worldwide. Currently the film is sitting pretty at $932.4m.
It should be able to cross $1 billion particularly with the July 4 holiday in North America this week. So far the film is the third highest grossing of 2018 following Avengers: Infinity War ($2.03 billion) and Black Panther($1.34 billion). It’s also the second highest grossing Jurassic Park movie.

Pratt and Howard are joined by co-stars James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, while BD Wong and Jeff Goldblum reprise their roles.
Directed by J.A. Bayona (The Impossible), the epic action-adventure is written by Jurassic World’s director, Trevorrow, and its co-writer, Derek Connolly. Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again partner with Spielberg and Trevorrow in leading the team of filmmakers for this stunning installment. Belén Atienza joins the team as a producer.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom hits UK cinemas on June 6 and June 22 in the US.
