Nobody will be surprised to learn it was another great weekend at the box office for Avengers: Infinity War. With a current box office haul of $1.606 billion it is now the highest grossing superhero movie of all time. That title was previously held by the first of the Avengers movies with $1.519 billion. Overall Infinity War is the fifth highest grossing movie of all time. This weekend, the Russo Brothers release brought in a further $61.8m at the North American box office and made $281m internationally. Rumours over the weekend point to the long awaited Man of Steel sequel heading closer to production. A report from El Fanboy Podcast points to insiders at Warner Bros. stating that the studio is looking for a 2020 release. The original Man of Steel directed by Zack Snyder was released in 2013. A 2020 release would mean the film would need to enter production in the next 12 months. Could we expect an announcement at San Diego Comic Con this year? Absolutely nobody will be surprised to hear that ABC has officially cancelled Marvel’s Inhumans. The pilot movie presentation was only able to amass a dismal haul of only $2.85m at the box office. It’s ratings on ABC were equally as unkind to a show afforded to much prestige for its production. As ABC brought the axe down on a number of shows it quietly confirmed what Marvel fans have known for sometime. Black Bolt and his family will not be returning to the air. After a tense weekend the wait for news on the future of Gotham is over. FOX has officially announced that is has picked up the veteran show for a fifth and final season. At this stage on Friday it seemed that the show was a goner. The cancellation of Lucifer only added to concerns. Sad news for fans of Lucifer. The series third season finale, airing tonight in the us, will act as the series finale. After three successful seasons the network has pulled the plug on the Warner Bros. drama. Though ratings had slipped over the course of season 3 the show remained a strong hit with fans. Back in early 2016 DC Comics announced it was dropping the price of most of its line to $2.99. This price drop coincided with the launch of the Rebirth branding with some titles moving to twice monthly publication.
