Excellent news for Wonder Woman 1984 this morning as it seems composer Hans Zimmer is coming out of superhero retirement to score the film.
Zimmer is no stranger to DC Comics movies having scored Chris Nolan’s entire Batman trilogy as well as Man of Steel and Batman v Superman for Zack Snyder.
Following BvS Zimmer announced he was retiring from superhero movies. His Wonder Woman theme lived on in the score for last years solo movie which was composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams.
But now a post on Hans-Zimmer.com has confirmed he will be returning to score Gal Gadot’s latest outing:
Hans Zimmer has signed on to score Wonder Woman 1984. Patty Jenkins returns to direct Gal Gadot as the titular hero. Hans first scored the character in Zack Snyder‘s Batman V Superman – Dawn Of Justice back in 2016, giving Wonder Woman her now iconic theme. Rupert Gregson-Williams, Hans’s longtime collaborator, scored the first Wonder Woman film in 2017. Wonder Woman 1984will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures on November 1, 2019.
Gal Gadot returns in the role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in Wonder Woman 1984. The film also stars Kristen Wiig in the role of the Super-Villain The Cheetah, as well as Pedro Pascal. And Chris Pine returns as Steve Trevor. The film is directed by Patty Jenkins.
Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Stephen Jones and Gal Gadot are producing the film. Rebecca Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada are the executive producers.
Wonder Woman 1984 is set to hit cinemas on November 1, 2019.
