Though it doesn’t have much time left at the box office, Aquaman is still taking no prisons. Over the weekend the Warner Bros. release surpassed Iron Man 3 ($805.7M) to become the highest grossing solo superhero movie at the international box office. It’s been a great night for Marvel at the 2019 Oscars ceremony. Both Black Panther and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse were big winners on the night. Following wins at the BAFTAS and Golden Globes Spider-Verse picked up the award for Best Animated Feature. This week Alita: Battle Angel made its debut in China. Following a middling performance in North America the movie has been seeing some strong returns in international territories. Estimates are coming in this evening that Alita has made $64.8M. If correct that would be the highest ever debut for a 20th Century Fox movie in the territory. 20th Century Fox has been doing some release date juggling. With the studio due to merge with Disney in the coming weeks things are on the move to allow for a smooth transition between the two.
