Over the last week Captain Marvel has been hitting the headlines for many different reasons. The majority of fans and media outlets are sharing hype for the movies release in two weeks time. But a cross-section of the internet is instead looking to detract anyone from seeing the movie.
Why? I hear you ask… well we’re not really sure.
At the time of writing the movie has an audience score of just 31%. That’s despite not releasing for another ten days. The score is based off over 37k members of the website giving poor reviews.
The closest audience score in the MCU is The Incredible Hulk with an audience score of 70%.
User reviews on the movies Rotten Tomatoes page focus on lead actress Brie Larson. The actress caused media generated controversy by asking for the press junket to be more inclusive.
Her continued outspoken comments on sexism and inclusivity continue to garner hate from portions of the random and it is these “fans” who are continuing to push the movie down.

Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, and Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Algenis Perez Soto and McKenna Grace in as-yet-undisclosed roles.
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck from a script they wrote with Liz Flahive, Carly Mensch, Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Captain Marvel arrives March 8, 2019.
