Anime Limited and TOHO Global have debuted a tense first-look trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero, the eagerly anticipated follow-up to director/screenwriter Takashi Yamazaki’s Academy Award-winning Godzilla Minus One. The film will release exclusively in IMAX and in cinemas across the UK and Ireland from November 6, 2026.
The studio is keeping story details under wraps but the project is the the first-ever Japanese production and first-ever Toho produced Godzilla film to be Filmed For IMAX®. Takashi Yamazaki returns as director, screenwriter, and VFX supervisor following the enormous success of 2023’s Godzilla Minus One, which became Anime Limited’s highest grossing film to date, earning over £2.6M at the UK & IRE box office.

Godzilla Minus One was a global phenomenon, earning acclaim from critics and the highest box office of a Japan-produced Godzilla film worldwide. The film went on to win Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards®, becoming the first Asian film to take home the award.
Now part of the TOHO Global family, Anime Limited are joining a worldwide collaboration set to make franchise history, with Godzilla Minus Zero being the first Japan-produced film in the historic franchise to be released near-simultaneously in Japan, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and North America. The film’s release in Japan on 3rd November commemorates “Godzilla Day”, celebrating the anniversary of the original film’s release in 1954, before cinema’s biggest kaiju stomps across cities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and beyond.
