Here’s Everything Coming to HBO MAX in July 2026

As we always do at this time of the month we’ve been circling the streamer-sphere to see what each of our favourite platforms has planned in the coming weeks. This month we’re adding a new platform to the list, HBO Max. With the service now established in the UK it’s time to see what they have up their sleeves for July 2026.

July features a huge new series debut as the latest spin-off to mega-hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory finally premieres. Stuart Fails to Save the Universe will debuting episodes weekly from July 24, 2026. The series stars Kevin Sussman (Stuart), Lauren Lapkus (Denise), Brian Posehn (Bert), and John Ross Bowie (Barry).

Comic book store owner Stuart Bloom is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon. Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke. Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from “The Big Bang Theory.” As the title implies, things don’t go well.

Only July 1 the streamer welcomes a new documentary, Bang My Box: The Robin Byrd Story. Before the internet and the ubiquity of social media influencers, there was Robin Byrd – the spirited, anything-goes New York City public access host, clad only in her signature black crochet bikini. From 1977 to 1998, Robin created, produced, and hosted the late-night call-in show that incorporated performances and interviews with adult entertainers and experimental artists.

Each show ended with a bawdy song and dance, turning her unapologetic, eponymous show into a national platform for sex-positivity and free speech.  Approaching her 70th birthday, Robin confronts her place in history and faces the decision to hand over a lifetime of memorabilia to archivists, while also tenderly caring for Shelly, her husband of 50 years. With a wealth of archival and intimate interviews, the film reflects on Robin’s career and tracks her current life in New York City, as well as Fire Island where she has been a beloved resident for decades. Robin candidly recounts the origins of “The Robin Byrd Show” revealing how sexy nighttime entertainment became a clarion call for sexual freedom and honest talk about sex beginning in the late 1970s. During the AIDS epidemic of the 1980s, Byrd became a tenacious champion for queer visibility, AIDS awareness, and safe sex, providing a welcoming community lifeline for many.

However, her platform of inclusivity and frank sexual expression drew criticism from conservative activists. She became the target of a national censorship battle that took her to the Supreme Court, and the ensuing landmark verdict cemented her legacy as a fierce First Amendment advocate. BANG MY BOX: THE ROBIN BYRD STORY celebrates a woman who defied expectations and remains a pioneer in the world of content creation and a cult icon.

In July, TNT Sports will broadcast every event and medal of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games live on its linear channels and streaming platform – HBO Max – available to watch for all subscribers, starting from £4.99 a month via the HBO Max Basic with Ads plan in the UK and Republic of Ireland. With around 600 hours of live coverage across 11 days, Glasgow 2026 kicks off with the Opening Ceremony on the evening of the 22 July.
