BOOM! Studios has revealed a first look at Be Not Afraid #2, the breathtaking continuation of the new original series from Jude Ellison S. Doyle (Hello Darkness, Maw), artist Lisandro Estherren (Redneck), colourist Francesco Segala with assistance by Gloria Martin, and letterer Simon Bowland. Equal parts feminist rage and rural folk horror, this descent into Hell itself is a nightmare ride fueled by the underpinnings of American Evangelical tradition and brutal cosmic horror. Available in comic shops everywhere July 2025.
Is Cora a victim of God’s wrath or the cause? Cora’s childhood in Enoch wasn’t easy. A fraught relationship with her mother and a challenging journey to her faith in God has left her jaded in adulthood. Cora’s last encounter with a visitor led to her downfall and unleashed Jordy’s evil on the world—how can she trust that Mr. Phim won’t lead her into more danger?
The second issue features main cover art by Reiko Murakami (Hello Darkness), and variant covers by acclaimed illustrators Tyler Boss (What’s the Furthest Place from Here?), and Jenna Cha (The Sickness).
In his five-star review of issue #1 Aaron said “Be Not Afraid is a genuine masterclass in horror storytelling. A disturbing tale mixed with beautifully nightmarish artwork results in a comic that is endlessly chilling from start to finish.”
