Review
Multiversal Mayhem: Bugs, Batman, and a Bewitching Antagonist The adventure doesn’t stop in the second instalment of the six-part series as the Justice League finds itself embroiled in a new multiversal mystery. Unusual occurrences unfold, leading to the appearance of several mysterious individuals. Are they allies or adversaries? It’s up to Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman to quickly unravel this puzzle!
Bugs Bunny and Batman start this issue with an interaction that you can only imagine: annoyingly hilarious one-liners and zingers like “talk dark and gruesome” met with serious, methodical questioning – I’ll let you guess who is who. The second issue is quite meta and self-referential, which makes it an entertaining read. At one point, Bugs Bunny tells a very funny joke about ACME that I won’t spoil, but it made me spit-take when I read it. If you are familiar with movie pop culture, you’ll get a kick out of it when you see it.
The group segments off into different missions, which ultimately results in more familiar faces joining forces. We also see some not-so-friendly faces go head-to-head with our heroes – Wonder Woman vs. the Wicked Witch of the West? Oh my! This run is shaping up to be a multiversal fun fest, with character combinations you wouldn’t expect, which is the core part of this entire series.
Verdict
Overall, the second issue of this six-part series sets a high bar for creativity and entertainment, blending iconic characters in unexpected ways. With its witty dialogue, meta-humour, and unpredictable alliances, the story promises an exhilarating ride through a multiverse of chaos and comedy. As our heroes split into diverse missions, facing both new allies and formidable foes, the narrative weaves a complex tapestry of adventure that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. Whether you’re a fan of superheroes, classic cartoons, or both, this series delivers a unique experience that is both nostalgic and refreshingly original.
