Anime Limited and Plaion Pictures, in partnership with Laika, have today announce the acquisition of Laika’s catalogue for home video release in the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Benelux, Spain and Portugal. The releases include Coraline (celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2024), ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings, and The Boxtrolls on Blu-ray, and 4K UHD.
The acquisition marks Anime Limited and Plaion Pictures’ continued commitment to celebrating animated film and physical media. The return of the films to the wider market just in time for the holidays starts with favourites Coraline and The Boxtrolls out on November 25th on standard edition blu-ray and a special edition steelbook with 4K UHD and blu-ray. ParaNorman and Kubo and the Two Strings will be released on December 9th on standard edition blu-ray and special edition 4K UHD and blu-ray steelbooks.
The relaunch of the films into the physical media market coincides with Laika’s successful re-release of Coraline in cinemas across the US, UK & Ireland this summer, with more screenings slated for release across other territories. The release of these much-adored films physically allows for the introduction of these Laika classics to a new generation of animation fans.
The films are now available to pre-order with various retailers across the territories. Please check your local retailer for more information.
