After teasing that new footage was about to debut, the BBC and Disney+ have jointly revealed a brand new trailer for Doctor Who season one. The series returns to screens in the UK on BBC iPlayer from midnight on May 11, 2024.
Audiences will journey the cosmos with the Fifteenth Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa, and Ruby Sunday, portrayed by Millie Gibson, onboard the TARDIS — exploring the groovy sixties, the Regency era in England, war-torn futures and more!
Featured in the global trailer is a first look at Indira Varma’s character The Duchess, who will be causing chaos in Ncuti Gatwa’s first season in the iconic role. Also seen for the first time is Callie Cooke who will be featured in an upcoming adventure.

The new season will also see an all star line up including returnees Yasmin Finney and Bonnie Langford who will reprise their roles as Rose Noble and Mel Bush. As well as introducing Jinkx Monsoon as the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet, Jonathan Groff in a mysterious key role, and Lenny Rush as Morris, to name just a few…
For those in the UK, for the first time ever, the Doctor will land with two episodes premiering on BBC iPlayer at midnight, before arriving on BBC One later that day right before the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final.
At the same time, those outside of the UK can watch the Doctor and Ruby on their epic adventures as the TARDIS is set to land on Disney+ where available. Viewers in the UK will now be able to watch whenever and wherever they choose, with the option to stream at midnight on BBC iPlayer or tune in at primetime on Saturday nights on BBC One.
