Laurence Fishburne has joined the cast of Netflix’s The Witcher in a mahor role. That’s right, The Matrix and John Wick legend is gearing up to join the world of monsters, men, and elves. Fishburne will be playing Regis, a fan-favourite from the books and games.
in Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, Regis first appears in Baptism of Fire as a “a world-wise Barber-surgeon with a mysterious past”. He will join Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt on his adventures as they traverse the Continent and its lurking dangers.
Fisburne joins returning actors Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan and Joey Batey in the upcoming season.
In a statement, Fishburne said, “I’m very excited to be joining the cast and look forward to exploring the wondrous world of The Witcher.“
After the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three, the new season follows Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri, who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire — and finding one another again.
As of right now, season four doesn’t have a premiere date set in stone just yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted as news spreads across the Continent. Are you excited to see Laurence join The Witcher universe? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
