MMPR #112 is published by BOOM! Studios, written by Melissa Flores, illustrated by Hendry Prasetya, coloured by Matt Herms and lettered by Ed Dukeshire.

Issue #112 is available 27th September 2023 either directly from BOOM! Studios online or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

A Master Arch explosion strands Trini, Zack, Kimberly, Tommy, Aisha and Matt on a mysterious and deadly planet, where they’re constantly under attack by Mistress Vile’s Thralls. Meanwhile, the creeping infection in the sky continues to grow… At the same time, Billy finds himself in a pocket of interdimensional space inside the Morphin Grid, where he confronts a construct of a recently departed friend…

    Review

The damage caused by Mistress Vile is rippling through the universe as the infection takes it’s hold on the Morphin Grid leaving the Rangers more or less powerless to any attack, the Rangers have to find a way to stop the Darkness and restore some sort of normality to the universe again, but Mistress Vile is at her most powerful and would probably pose the toughest opponent they’ve ever faced, that’s if they can find her again.

Thanks to the Master Arch explosion Trini, Zack, Kimberly, Tommy, Aisha and Matt are left stranded upon an unknown planet facing endless hordes of Thralls that alone wouldn’t pose any sort of problem but the endless hordes will begin to stretch even the most toughened warrior.

The Master Arch explosion also sent Blue Ranger Billy deep into an unknown dimension with no obvious route to escape and no obvious answer to if he can escape leaving him wondering if he will be trapped there forever, a visit from a AI construct of a familiar being tries to put his mind at a slight ease giving him the possible information that he needs to put an escape plan into play but does he have the belief inside him that he can do it? Time for some deep soul searching I think.

This event is phenomenal, I’m hooked I just can’t get enough of this intense story. I thought that the Eltarian War couldn’t be topped but The Darkest Hour already is a hundred times better Melissa Flores just keeps getting better and better with her writing delivering some of the best story lines I have seen in comics in recent times, each page has me hooked and nothing else matters at that moment as I become more engrossed in the words on the page, what a time to be a Power Rangers fan.

The illustrations this time are from Hendry Prasetya combining the colour talents of Matt Herms provides a visual symphony that will blow your mind, the story is dramatic and dark and the illustrations take the story and elevate it to another level creating an almost hypnotic reading experience.

    Verdict

Prepare to have your mind blown, this is some of the best creative work I have seen coming out of BOOM! Studios, elite levels of comic reading experience is to be had here a comic event that you just cannot miss.
