It’s official. The next chapter in Paul Atreides’ story has been delayed. Dune: Part Two, originally slated for a November 3rd release, will now arrive on the big screen on March 15th, 2024 as confirmed by Variety and The Hollywood Reporter.
The delay comes as the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes continue, meaning that actors may not participate in any sort of promotion until a fair deal is achieved.
Dune: Part Two, based on Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel, will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Directed once again by Denis Villeneuve, Dune: Part Two stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Stellan Skarsgård, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista and Josh Brolin. Joining the already star-studded cast is Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot, and Souheila Yacoub as Shishakli.
