As part of this year’s Tudum event, Netflix has confirmed that Geralt will be back on our screens for the third season of The Witcher next year. That’s right, The Witcher will be back in 2023. More specifically, the third season will air sometime in the Summer.
Not much else was revealed about the upcoming season, but we did get our first teaser image. The poster reveals Geralt’s shattered Wolf medallion, alongside Ciri’s Swallow symbol. It doesn’t reveal a lot, but it does tease a somewhat destructive season… Characters will be tested, and bonds will be shattered.
Fans were also given a behind-the-scenes look at season 3 where Anya Chalotra revealed that “Yennefer and Ciri go head to head… they’ve got a lot to learn from each other.” Season 3 is going to be full of surprises and we can’t wait to see the return of our favourite characters, as well as the new faces that will be joining the series.
Check out what awaits Geralt in Season Three:
As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line — or risk losing each other forever.
The Witcher stars Henry Cavill (Geralt of Rivia), Anya Chalotra (Yennefer of Vengerberg), Freya Allan (Ciri), and Joey Batey (Jaskier). We’ve still got a long wait until season 3 starts airing, and even then we don’t actually have an accurate date yet. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for more, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
