Henry Cavill releases cryptic SUPERMAN video

After all the furore yesterday over whether Henry Cavill is or isn’t still Superman the man himself has broken his silence.

Cavill posted the below cryptic video on his Instagram account. Wearing a Krypton Team shirt and holding a Superman bust the actor doesn’t do anything to dispel the rumours. But doesn’t do anything to confirm them either.

All seems like a storm in a teacup to us…

Man of Steel

Fear not, Henry Cavill is still our SUPERMAN

It’s been a trying few hours for Superman fans.

Earlier today THR released an “exclusive” story claiming that fan favourite Henry Cavill would not longer be playing the Man of Steel.

According to the report Warner Bros. was keen on having Cavill appear alongside Zach Levi in Shazam! When a deal could not be brokered to make it happen it seemed to mark the end for Cavill.

Further rumours pointed to a deal being unable to be reached. Others chalked it up to a simple scheduling conflict with Cavill out promoting Mission Impossible: Fallout across the globe.

Regardless the stories all had one conclusion. Henry is out as Superman.

In swoops Dany Garcia (Henry Cavill’s manager) with a quick statement confirming that “the cape is still in his closet.”

As Garcia commented a statement from Warner Bros. arrived shortly after her tweet:

“While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we’ve always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged.”

We might not have Man of Steel 2 coming very soon but we can rest easy that Cavill is very much still our Superman!

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: FALLOUT opens to $77m in China

Mission Impossible: Fallout has finally hit the Chinese market. Following its opening weekend its clear the franchise has a huge hold over the Middle Kingdom as movie opened to a franchise best $77m.

Man of Steel

Is Henry Cavill prepping to play SUPERMAN soon?

We possibly wouldn’t class this one as news but it certainly is intriguing.

Actor Henry Cavill posted the below to his Instagram showing that he’s back in the gym. In the caption on his post he mentions working on his “Super Buns” and alludes to the fact he could be donning his red cape sooner than we think.

Could it all be a smoke screen? Or is Cavill about to play Superman again on the big screen?
