After debuting an excellent first trailer, Netflix has dropped a new featurette for Tim Burton’s upcoming Addams Family series, Wednesday. The series which stars Jenna Ortega as the titular Wednesday, is set to explore the character in a whole new light as she attends Nevermore Acamdey, the school where her famous parents first met.
Burton, Ortega and members of the series’ cast and crew are all on hand to discuss bringing the character to streaming. It certainly looks like Ortega threw herself in to the role, undertaking fencing and cello lessons as part of her training.

Wednesday is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting 16-year-old Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Season One will follow Wednesday as she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.
From the creative mind of Tim Burton, Wednesday stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams. Co-starring are Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Gwendoline Christie, Thora Birch, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Georgie Farmer, Naomi Ogawa and Moosa Mostafa. Members of the Addams family will guest across the series with Catherine Zeta-Jones as matriarch Morticia and Luis Guzmán as Wednesday’s father Gomez. Victor Dorobantu plays dismembered hand, Thing, Isaac Ordonez plays Wednesday’s brother Pugsley and George Burcea plays manservant Lurch.
The series will debut later in 2022.
