Anime fans, are you ready? Crunchyroll, the global leader in bringing fans the ultimate anime experience in just a few simple clicks, has announced some incredibly exciting plans for next year. The Crunchyroll Anime Awards, the leading awards program for anime that celebrates everything from animation to “Best Boy”, will take place in Japan for the first time ever in 2023.
That’s right, The 7th Anime Awards ceremony will be held in Japan, the home of anime. The live event will be held on March 4th at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo and will bring together the various studios, creators, musicians, and voice actors behind our favourite shows and films. The event will also be streamed on many of Crunchyroll social channels.
But that’s not all. Crunchyroll also announced that the 2023 extravaganza will be a premier event. The event will be full of fans, celebrities, creators, musicians, performances and more. Crunchyroll’s intention is to create a spectacular event that is an international outpouring of affection for anime. We cannot wait.
“There is no better place to celebrate the Anime Awards than the birthplace of anime itself,” said Rahul Purini, President of Crunchyroll. “Anime is a rich storytelling medium, capturing the hearts and minds of fans all over the world. We can’t wait to showcase how much love the global anime fanbase has for the studios, creators, and our trusted partners behind anime.”
The Crunchyroll Anime Awards celebrate fan-favorite anime series, characters, and creators across streaming, film and music – voted for by fans and judges from across the globe. Last year, a record 16.9 million votes were cast for nominees. Isn’t that amazing? Anime is bigger than ever, and an event such as the Anime Awards just highlights how big it has become. Anime is a worldwide phenomenon that has to be celebrated.
Nominees and voting will open early next year. More information will be shared across the Anime Awards website and across Crunchyroll social channels. So make sure you keep your eyes peeled so that you can cast your votes. It is going to be an insane event for sure.
