Review
Djinn Hunter as a series was one of my favourite comic arcs from last year, it was a story that has evolved as it progressed and I loved seeing how the character of Zara grew.
In issue #5 we have the epic conclusion of the fantasy story where Zara and her friends with new found powers go up for one final time against Abyss, it’s down to the group to take down the ex-elder to save the realms and get the balance of the universe back to where it once was, this has been an all out war culminating in one final battle which will take everything Zara has, but has she got enough? The Elders depend on it.
The writing of this series has shown exactly what Jay Sandlin is, in my eyes one of the best writers in comics at the moment. The story arc has captivated my imagination and taken me deep into a fantasy world and gave me an introduction to a world that hopefully will have more story arcs to come, it definitely has potential for it.
The illustration style of the Djinn Hunter series has been inspired, the detail is immense and the colours used captivate the fantasy world and bring to life the words Jay has written.
Verdict
A fantastical thrill ride with deep routed emotion, a story of broken hearts, revenge and fighting back from the very pit a story that captivates and inspires. Beautifully written and equally beautiful illustrations that will take you on a fantasy journey that you won’t want to get off.
