After months of anticipation and teasers Netflix has finally announced the return of Stranger Things. The fourth season has now been confirmed to be split in to two volumes with the first arriving on May 27, 2022. The second volume will then premiere on July 1, 2022.
In an open letter to fans showrunners The Duffer Brothers detailed the reasons behind the split. “With nine scripts, over eight-hundred pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of visual effects shots, and a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but almost the most rewarding one” starts the letter.
“Given the unprecedented length, and to get it to you as soon as possible, Season 4 will be released in two volumes” says the statement.
