Well, isn’t this brilliant? It has been over two years since John Williams has ventured through hyperspace and through the Outer Rim. However, it looks as though the legendary composer is gearing up for one epic comeback. According to Variety, John William’s is returning to the Star Wars universe to compose a theme for Disney+’s highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi which will put Ewan Mcgregor back in his iconic Jedi Knight robes.
According to the report, Williams has already written and recorded the piece for Obi-Wan and it was recorded just last week with a Los Angeles Orchestra.
What’s interesting is that William’s very rarely writes music for Television. However, Obi-Wan has been with Williams since he first appeared in A New Hope. Williams has witnessed the Jedi Knight transform from a Padawan into an aged and reclusive hermit. It seems very fitting for Williams to revisit this tragic hero once more.
John Williams also recently turned 90. Despite his age, he shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. He certainly has a lot on his plate right now… Obi-Wan Kenobi, Spielberg’s The Fabermans, the fifth Indiana Jones movie, and even some live concerts. Is it too much to ask that William’s composes music forever?
