Netflix has released a brand new special look at the upcoming live action remake of popular anime classic Cowboy Bebop.
In September 2021, we got our first glimpse of Netflix’s take on this series in the form of an opening title sequence! Now, we finally have some teaser footage titled ‘The Lost Session’ that showcases each of our main characters, how they fight, how they talk and even a sneak peek into the main story-line featuring our main protagonist Spike Spiegel (John Cho) and his Katana-wielding rival; Vicious (Alex Hassell).
The teaser shows us the crew of the Bebop taking on a bounty, but getting caught up in all sorts of arguments and shenanigans along the way, as well as stopping for a bite to eat… can’t fight on an empty stomach! This footage won’t be part of the actual show but has a fun way of using split-screen and stylish camera work to at least give us a taste of what is to come.
Netflix officially describe this new series:
“Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka ‘cowboys,’ all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.”
An official trailer is expected to be released in the coming week, and the full series of Cowboy Bebop will debut on November 19th 2021 with 10 episodes, but for anybody too impatient to wait, catch the original on Netflix from October 21st before you catch this retelling!
