Take this one with an incredibly large grain of salt Super Friends but FandomWire is reporting some huge and exciting cameos for The Flash.
We already know that both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will be appearing as their own versions of Batman. But how about not one, not two, but potentially THREE more versions of the Dark Knight?
As per FandomWire’s report Warner Bros. Pictures has approached Val Kilmer (Batman Forever), George Clooney (Batman & Robin) and surprisingly Christian Bale (The Dark Knight trilogy) to make appearances.
Kilmer was, at one stage, reportedly set to appear at DC FanDome fuelling reports of a potential Schumacher cut of Batman Forever. It seems he still has an open mind when it comes to working with Warner Bros. on the franchise.
Clooney’s one and only appearance as Batman will (most likely) forever be known as the character’s cinematic low point so we think they may have some trouble coaxing him to return. Equally confusing is Bale whose Batman was presumed dead at the end of 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.
The report, cited as being confirmed by “sources,” also understand that Chris O’Donnell has been approached to appear as his version of Dick Grayson from both Forever and Batman & Robin.
Still with us? Here’s where things get even more crazy.
The report also states that none other than Nicholas Cage has also been approached to play his never-before-seen version of Superman from Tim Burton’s scrapped Superman Lives.
Cage’s Superman would be the version of the character to inhabit the same world as Keaton’s Batman, tying together the Burton-verse as it were.
On top of all these rumours there are persistent whispers that Grant Gustin will return the favour offered by Ezra Miller during Crisis On Infinite Earths and appear in the film. His Arrowverse alum Brandon Routh is also rumoured to appear as both his own version of Supes from Superman Returns as well as the Kingdom Come version of the character seen during Crisis.
Still with us? Well that’s all for now… but as we said, take all these rumours with a very large pinch of salt.
The Flash is currently dated to hit cinemas on July 1, 2022.
