When we last heard about Shazam 2, the sequel to 2019’s David F. Sanberg directed DC Film hit, the film was due to start production in July 2020.
That news came pre-Coronavirus which obviously has impacted the film alongside so many other of Hollywood’s productions. But now a new rumour from The Illuminderi suggests that the Warner Bros. and New Line Pictures co-production will start production in spring 2021.
With Sanberg and writer Henry Gayden both returning we fully expect to see Zachary Levi’s Shazam taking on Mister Mind in his second outing. The film will also set the scene for a crossover with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s Black Adam which is currently due in cinemas in December 2021.
Shazam 2 is currently slated for release on November 4th, 2022.
