Just when we though we knew exactly which movies to get excited for when lockdown finally ends, Sony Pictures has announced that is moving much of its upcoming slate including Jared Leto’s Morbius, Tom Holland’s ill-fated Uncharted and Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
The studios has confirmed that all of the above are moving to new slots within 2021 which leaves an even larger in whole in the remaining slate for 2020.
Originally set for a July 30 release, Morbius will now hit cinemas on March 19, 2021, while Ghostbusters: Afterlife is moving from July 10 to March 5, 2021. Both films had been initially set to overlap so no change there.
Uncharted, which has seen a fair amount of behind the scenes changes already, has been shifted all the way to October 8, 2021. It makes sense to shift Uncharted back the furthest given that cameras are yet to roll.
July 2020 is looking like another quiet month but hopefully one where life will, finally, begin to return to normal.
