Netflix is gearing up for the return of The Umbrella Academy. The first season finale left the Hargeeves family in a rather precarious position after they failed to stop the apocalypse. The family chose to travel back in time to make a second attempt but as the season one finale drew to a close the team found they had all been regressed back to childhood.
Though Netflix has yet to announce a premiere date for season 2, they have begun promoting the second batch of episodes with the release of these new posters.
The colourful posters all continue the umbrella motif with each member of the Hargreeves family appearing in their own poster. There’s also a stylised umbrella in the number two on the final poster, that same poster also features the teasing caption “When are they?”.
Well indeed Netflix. When are they? And when will they be back!?
The Umbrella Academy is based on the popular, Eisner award-winning comics and graphic novels created and written by Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance), illustrated by Gabriel Bá, and published by Dark Horse Comics.
The live-action series stars Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, David Castañeda, Aidan Gallagher, Cameron Britton, and Mary J. Blige, and is produced by Universal Cable Productions for Netflix. Steve Blackman (Fargo, Altered Carbon) will serve as executive producer and showrunner, with additional executive producers Jeff F. King (Hand of God), Bluegrass Television, and Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg from Dark Horse Entertainment. Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá will serve as co-executive producers.
Season 1 of The Umbrella Academy is available now via Netflix worldwide.
