Booksmart star Kaitlyn Dever has addressed the rumors concerning the role of Batgirl in the DC Extended Universe.
On the red carpet at the Oscars, Kaitlyn spoke to Variety and addressed the rumors. While she hasn’t spoken to anyone about the role, it seems as though she would love to don the cowl alongside Pattinson.
“Oh, you know, I’m not gonna deny anything, but I would be down. That’s all I’m saying, yeah. No, there’s nothing going on. I’m just reading all of this stuff and I wouldn’t pass that up, that’s all I’m saying. I think it’s an incredible Batman, I don’t know if there’s controversy over that, I’m not in the news, I don’t watch the news. He’s an amazing actor, perfect Batman in my opinion. That would be sick, that’d be really cool.”
Production for Matt Reeves’ The Batman is underway and we still know nothing about the actual story. With this is mind, it’s hard to tell whether Reeves intends to implement the Bat-Family. It would be amazing to see and anyone who has a passion and enthusiastic attitude towards playing a hero, definitely deserves a shot. So why not?

Considering that Pattinson has apparently signed on to do a trilogy, it is definitely possible that other heroes could be introduced. From these films we could then see spin offs.
The Batman is being directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped crusader. Joining Pattinson are Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
The film is set to focus on Batman’s early years and will focus more on his unique ability to solve crimes rather than smash skulls.
The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
