Ever since the release of Avengers: Endgame we’ve had one niggling question about the production: which was the most expensive shot in the movie?
Well now IMDd has revealed all in a new interview with the writers and directors and of course it’s Tony Stark’s funeral.
“We used to joke, and I don’t know if it’s joking, it’s probably the most expensive shot in movie history,” said Joe Russo. “That’s a lot of salary on the screen there. At the very least it’s the most expensive day of extras in movie history, outside of Cleopatra.”
Just how did they stop news of the scene leaking out in the press?
“They were all brought there under this pretense that they were coming for a wedding — it’s kind of heartbreaking to think about now — but they all have managers, and agents, and hair and make up, and we can’t tell anybody what we’re up to, because it can leak through one of a thousand sources,”Joe explains. “So they were all brought there under the pretense that they’re coming for a wedding, and the day they got there and we started to dress them in the black outfits, they said, ‘This is a very strange wedding.’ We said, ‘It’s because it’s actually a funeral.’”Anthony reveals during the interview that only Gwyneth Paltrow knew what was happening as“it was an enormous character moment.”
“Maybe one or two of the other actors we knew it was a big moment for. But no, most of them found out on that day, so it’s a testament to what good actors they are,” he concluded.

We have some good news for Lucifer fans who are still reeling from the announcement that season 5 will be the series’ last.
Netflix has announced that it is ordering an additional six episodes for the upcoming season, bringing its total to sixteen episodes. Though that isn’t as long as season 3’s 26 episodes it is certainly longer than the thirteen episode season 1 and ten episode season 4.
We suspect Netflix might be looking to extend the end of the series and will release season 5 in two-parts as they have recently done with shows such as Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Are you excited for even more Lucifer? Let us known in the comments.
It’s been a huge couple of weeks for comic book writer Tom King. Fresh off the news of his Batman/Catwoman series and his Eisner Award win for Batman and Mister Miracle, he’s now hard at work on the script for the New Gods movie.
King is working with writer-director Ava DuVernay and the pair has been singing each other’s praises on social media. King shared the below posts talking about their first week working together on the movie’s script and it seems like they’ve had a good time.
After seeing these I’m first in line for a “Darkseid is.” shirt!
What an honor, what a pleasure writing with this transcendent story teller. She’s out here changing the world. Grateful and mind-blown to be working with her to bring Kirby’s masterpiece to life. https://t.co/dvq5os86sW
It might be a little while until those of us not attending San Diego Comic Con and Disney’s own D23 conference get to see the first teaser for Black Widow. But descriptions of the footage are leading us to believe this could be Marvel’s grittiest movie since Winter Soldier.
Actress Rachel Weisz has been discussing her role in the movie with IGN and touched on many of the strong female characters seen in the footage.
“I’m a Black Widow,” Weisz said of her character, Melina. “And Scarlett [Johansson] and Florence [Pugh.] And there’s at least… quite a lot of characters that you meet in the film that are Black Widows.”

Black Widow will see the return of Scarlett Johansson in her first solo outing. The film is due to release on May 1, 2020 from Marvel Studios.
