It might be a little while until those of us not attending San Diego Comic Con and Disney’s own D23 conference get to see the first teaser for Black Widow. But descriptions of the footage are leading us to believe this could be Marvel’s grittiest movie since Winter Soldier.
Actress Rachel Weisz has been discussing her role in the movie with IGN and touched on many of the strong female characters seen in the footage.
“I’m a Black Widow,” Weisz said of her character, Melina. “And Scarlett [Johansson] and Florence [Pugh.] And there’s at least… quite a lot of characters that you meet in the film that are Black Widows.”

Black Widow will see the return of Scarlett Johansson in her first solo outing. The film is due to release on May 1, 2020 from Marvel Studios.
