It’s been a rollercoaster week for comic book writer Tom King.
Last week we heard rumours that King was being removed from his role on the on-going Batman series. That news was eventually confirmed alongside the announcement that 2020 will see King spearheading a 12-issue maxi-series entitled Batman/Catwoman.
The new maxi will wrap up the story which started in the pages of Batman‘s Rebirth relaunch.
Late last night TheWrap broke the news that King is set to co-write the upcoming New Gods movie at Warner Bros. alongside the previously announced Ava DuVernay.
Initially thought to be nothing more than a rumour DuVernay then confirmed the news on social media. DuVernay posted a photo of the pair together along with a caption confirming his involvement in the movie.
Hey @TomKingTK. Ready to write NEW GODS, buddy? A. ✨✨✨ pic.twitter.com/FFpLDt75mm

King won an Eisner Award for his work on Mister Miracle, a character who is rumoured to be heavily involved in the movie’s storyline.
