It was only a couple of days ago that we brought you the news that Alec Baldwin was taking on the role of Thomas Wayne in Todd Phillips Joker movie.
Now the actor has ruled himself out of the film, first via a tweet and then an interview with USA Today.
First the actor put out a slightly aggressive tweet denying that he would be starring in the DC Films movie:
Let me state, for the record, that I have NOT been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips’ JOKER as some Donald Trump manque.
That is not happening.
Not.

Shortly after the tweet was released a new interview with USA Today elaborated that Baldwin had been forced to drop out of the movie due to “scheduling conflicts”.
“I’m no longer doing that movie, I’m sure there are 25 guys who can play that part.” he said.
Joaquin Phoenix takes the lead in Joker and will star alongside Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Frances Conroy (American Horror Story), Marc Maron (Glow) and 2x Academy Award-winner Robert De Niro.
Joker will be released on October 4, 2019. For all our Joker coverage head to our archive!
