Back in February, we received a fresh look at Joker: Folie à Deux. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, Todd Phillips shared three images of Arthur Fleck as Joker, and Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn. On top of that, it was also revealed that the very first trailer for the sequel would drop on April 10th, which is now just one week away. With the date looming, Warner Bros. decided to gift us with another treat… An intimate poster.
If you look back at the images from February, you’ll spot that one of them very much resembles the poster below. Again, this aesthetic they’ve gone for, as well as the various rumors that have circulated, seemingly confirms this sequel’s status as a musical.
It seems like an odd choice, but the trailer will definitely help clarify things; what the Joker is up to, how Harley enters the fray, and what the two will be up to. “The World is a Stage” somewhat teases much higher stakes, as though the Joker’s influence is spreading more rapidly, not just in Gotham but around the world.
Hopefully this trailer provides some answers. We’ll find out on April 10th, so keep your eyes peeled.
Joining Phoenix and Lady Gaga in Folie à Deux are Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey. Zazie Beetz will also reprise her role as Sophie from the first film.
Joker: Folie à Deux is currently slated to be released in cinemas on October 4th, 2024.
