The Hollywood Reporter recently published an interesting article on expansion plans for Pinewood Studios in Toronto, Canada. The studio has recently found itself bursting at the scenes following Star Trek: Discovery setting up shop on its various soundstages. Currently the studio plans to expand to 700,000 square feet over the next few years.
But buried deep within the article was an interesting tidbit of information for DC fans. The article mentions that director David F. Sandberg’s Shazam will begin shooting at the studio in ‘early 2018’. There are no other details on the film but this does give us an idea on when production will begin.
David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) will direct the film from a script by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke. Shazam is a co-production between New Line and Warner Bros. it is not yet known whether the film will form part of the main DC Films Universe.
