In the past week fans of the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers were treated to the first confirmed reveal of two iconic ‘Power Rangers’ characters; Zordon and Alpha 5.
Unlike most ‘first looks,’ both of these reveals come directly from Virtual Reality footage from the ‘Power Rangers’ movie simulator, which premiered at CES 2017 in Las Vegas.
CES 2017 in Las Vegas treated attendees to a VR experience, in which we see the first images of Alpha 5 (portayed by Bill Hader in the upcoming movie) walking and talking with the Power Rangers. With a quirky walk and charming personality, Alpha is looking like the lovable sidekick to the squad we’ve come to know over the years. The video can be seen HERE.
Excited fans also got their first virtual reality glimpse of Bryan Cranston’s Zordon; mentor and commander of the Power Rangers, with a photo of a fan’s VR experience. While not crystal clear, there is no doubt that we are looking at the 4th iteration of Zordon of Eltar, inside the Power Rangers Command Centre. Appearing as a large head on the Command Centre wall and with the trademark blue hue, Zordon is instantly recognisable.
Lionsgate’s ‘Power Rangers’ will pit five seemingly ordinary teenagers from Angel Grove, California against the evil Rita Repulsa. Directed by Dean Israelite, the movie has been slated as a reboot and re-imagining of the franchise, ‘Power Rangers’ is the third movie set in the Power Rangers universe.
Starring Dacre Montgomery as Red Ranger Jason, Naomi Scott as Pink Ranger Kimberly, RJ Cyler as Blue Ranger Billy, Becky G as Yellow Ranger Trini and Ludi Lin as Black Ranger Zack, fans of the original 1993 series ‘Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers’ are hoping for a return to form for the franchise on March 24, 2017.
