We’ve got some interesting news for you this morning courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter…
The news comes from an article looking at what is next for ‘Justice League’ director Zack Snyder.
Whilst Snyder takes a break from the DC Extended Universe to work on his long term development project ‘The Last Photograph’ he will be putting ‘Justice League 2’ on the back burner. You read that correctly… Snyder is still in line to direct ‘Justice League 2’.
Warner Bros is equally putting ‘Justice League 2’ on the backburner whilst they turn their attentions to Ben Affleck’s ‘The Batman’.
Here’s the quote direct from THR:
Snyder is still intent on directing ‘Justice League 2’, but that movie has been pushed back to make room for Ben Affleck’s Batman stand-alone movie. The move left an opening in Snyder’s schedule for a production that is smaller-scale, at least compared to massive superhero tent poles he has been working on of late. Call it a palate cleanser, if you will.
There’s no confirmation of this from Warner Bros but it seems likely that Snyder could use a break from the DC Comics world for a little while. This would also give Warner Bros chance to digest the reaction to ‘Justice League’ (see our coverage of the DCEU here!)
Do you think the move makes sense? Which would you prefer to see first: ‘The Batman’? Or ‘Justice League 2’? Let us know.
